Levelling layer

The appropriate regulations and standards design that a levelling layer has to accommodate movement resulting from the substructure i. e. creeps, without any damage, to exclude an improper demand of the total sealing packet.
A test series of the TU Munich showed that WIROBIT-Kautschukbitumen at holohedral bonding with the rough concrete layer bridged all occurring cracks problem-free.
Therewith the proof of the crack bridging had been given.*



 

Self-healing

At the day-to-day work on site smaller damages through nails, crown caps etc. cannot be avoided. The high and above all timeless flow ability of WIROBIT-Kautschukbitumen because of its elastic behaviour (100%ige recovery*) guarantee a self-acting closing of the damaged spot in the WIROBIT-Kautschukbitumen after removal of the causing object.

 




 

No under-flowing

The primary problem of all conventional sealing technologies is in the under-flowing of the sealing in case of damage.
WIROBIT-Kautschukbitumen offers here a safe solution. Through the holohedral direct bonding to the substructure an under-flowing of the sealing at a however caused damaged is excluded. Therefore damaged spots can be repaired with low cost and time expenditure. Complex protection methods such as protection concrete, building protection mats etc, are not necessary.


     

Point localisation

Because of the high bonding capacity of WIROBIT-Kautschukbitumen on rough concrete layers a high-quality holohedral direct bonding of the sealing with the concrete load carrying system develops. This makes a dead-on localisation of a however natured mechanical damage of the sealing possible.
So that such a point localisation is possible, the damaged spot (rock pocket, hair crack) in the concrete layer has to be 100 % congruent with the damaged spot in the sealing. If no congruence exists, the non under-running* prevents from the development of a leakage.


     

FLL-procedure for the investigation of the rooting resistance



FFL-Verfahren zur Untersuchung der Durchwurzelungsfestigkeit

The FLL-procedure had been developed by the task group rooting protection under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Liesecke (successor: Prof. Dr. Fischer). Based on the adjoining test arrangement elastomer modified bitumen welded sheeting, as well as high polymer sheeting had been tested for two years. All products, which do not show any rooting after the test duration are considered to bee root resistant.

Rooting protection sheeting made out of polymer modified welded sheeting are used for WIROBIT-sealing, which have to be greened, as secondary layer.
